Caliban was a weak and submissive mutant after he was bullied by various factions, eventually he gave himself over to Apocalypse to be genetically altered to become stronger, more dominant. He moved in and out of the control of Apocalypse and eventually, Caliban digressed to a more primal nature before finally regaining his faculties. He would eventually die by sacrificing himself for a friend

History Caliban was working alongside Logan until Donald Pierce and his men took him as a hostage. Donald then used Caliban to locate Logan and Charles Xavier. Caliban ultimately chose to kill himself using some grenades rather than continue being forced to work for the Reavers. Caliban is a mutant who was born with a freakish appearance which caused his father to name him (or possibly only nickname him) after the grotesque being in William Shakespeare's The Tempest. Caliban's tracking powers made him ideal as part of Apocalypse's elite team of assassins. When the Shadow King detected the presence of a new telepath (Nate Grey the X-Man), Apocalypse dispatched Caliban, Domino, and Grizzly to capture him.
